During the summer months children from an Italian school volunteer to work as traffic wardens. Their school promotes this initiative as a way to learn good citizenship. In spite of their state uniforms, they have no legal powers of law enforcement.

The performative lecture ‘The Case of the Mini-Vigili: an Embodied Iconography’ draws from anthropology, history, history of cinema and literature to explore the origin of the use of uniforms in children in Italy.
